  1. In 1969 when I was in eighth grade at Myra Bradwell Grammer School in South Shore I was a library helper. The librarian was a previous Navy officer. She took us to see her old friends on the ship at Navy Pier as a ‘thank you’ for all the filing of books and learning the D. D. system. We had lunch in the cafeteria. She was a sweet woman with gray hair, who was built like a battleship. Today Navy Pier’s Arcade trains future military minds through video games, instead of honoring heroes who stopped Hitler. Thanks for keeping history in front of us at this website!
