The 4000 series cars were always my favorite. Noisy as all get out, but fun to ride on. The cars above are most likely of the “Baldie” series of cars, with the simple steel roof on them. These and the “Plushies” operated in service until 1973, finishing their service life on the Evanston Express. There are a few in railway museums, and CTA has 2 in service in their Heritage Fleet
