  1. The tall white building on the south side of the River is the London Guarantee and Accident building, built in 1923; on the ground floor was the London House jazz supper club. The website londonhousechicago.com gives a short history: WLS-AM radio had its studios there, from which Paul Harvey broadcast his radio programs. Aerial photos show the rail yards on the north side of the River as well as those east of Michigan Avenue.
